My Accomplishment

   It's been 4 months since I came here. I have been studing hard in class and out class, so I achieved great progress in English. The biggest accomplishment for me was getting 6. 3 on the tell me more hehehe, but this not enough I need to improve myself more with concentrate on reading and comprehension. in this semester the largest obstacle I  overcame it was speaking English easily with others without feeling shamed  from my mistakes because I was preparing myself  at home for anything I wanted  to talk about it in class or with my friends, by the time I  become to  talk with my friend easier than before, in addtion my friend help me a lot . they corrected  for me alot of my misteks. I think watching TV, and movies help me more than anything. Of course I study English for  my goals to get the TOEFL Academic. Although I have a TOEFL phobia however, I have to prepare it for  continueing my education in USA. I think studing in USA give to the student good  experience in advanced universities allow you to learn from their professors friction with the latest research and the latest Practical applications of this research.

Abha

         When I want to talk about tourist city in the K.S.A, I immediately remember  Abha. It's a small city, and it's situated at south of Saudi Arabia .  Abha is most important city because it has a good geographical location and a good weather that make it one of most important tourist cities in the Arabi Gulf. Population of about 1300000 people.The people there interested in herding cattle and agriculture,  In addition to the women interested in traditional arts, ornamentation on the wall and make traditional utensils .  Abha has many monuments that enhance their value as a tourist destination is important . The Saudi government has been promoting Abha as a tourist destination and has created events, such as the Abha Festival during the summer, to draw people to the city. Events are organized to attract visitors to discover the city and its surroundings, such as sporting events, shows, exhibitions and musical performances by famous Arabic poets and singers  .

         another perspective, Abha has many preserves like Rosette , Mrba  . There is in these reserves are  many of the animals. One of the main animals that are found in this region monkey monkey (baboon) andArabian wolf, foxes, hyenas planned and white tail mongoose, hyrax and lynx. This is aprotected home to nine species of birds endemic in the Arabian Peninsula.

On thursday I went with classmates to Powers' Farm Market and the wether was very cold . In first of all at there we saw animals and we fed it. I liked more than anything the chicken wath colorful . after that we went to shopping and ate donat with hot apple juice. when we ride a cart I enjoyed more than I scare but that place look like horror movie . when we went back our class , we were making jack o lantern patterns. I am happy because I could see halloween in America

My dreams

   When I speak about my short -term, I find my self to speak alot becuase I have  many dreams.  I 'll start in my short -term .Here in american of cours I need learn English. then I want to take the caurse in abstract art and technique of mixing colors . also I hope to complete my education . I  forget the cook. I love cook. I wish to develop my self in the cooking .
   My long-term need a long time and I need a long time in order to go back KSA after I toke master and I want have baby then I'll  do prsonal exhibition. ,that is all

The difference in education in Saudi Arabia and America

despite I haven't  enrolled the university in USA yet, but I will try to write about What diffrent between education in my country and here . Now  many of the students  in  saudi  universitys study by GPA system. And after every 2 month is there quiz. They  study along time before midterm because  afraid of the word ( flunk). also thay have elective. When I was studing I didn't like it, but I was like my major class .Anyway I think that  USA universitys  same system because saudi universitys derives from its american education system.

the U.N. conference

Today I went to the U.N. conference  with all my classmates except my husband . They talked about Empowerment of women and girls, also they talked about the freedom of speech. Many journalist from other countries came to talk about this issue that many coutries are dealing with. I could not understand a lot becouse of the difference  accent  but I could understand the journalist from oman  :) (  I am happy for that ) . But I didn't agree with him . he said * the people in his country believes that writes in newspapers* so I didn't agree with him  becouse arab people are now more aware and understand that the government control of everything . 

Things that I get used to, since I came here

since I came to America,I get used to walk everyday , also I get used to take long naps . When I was in Saudia , I used to listen classes in arabic , but now I have to get use to
listen classes in english, talk to people from other countries, and to read in enlish, it's very difficult; Furthermore I get used to do my homework in the house while my husband is playing his games.
But the only thing that I am never going to get use to, is to eat greasy food!!!   

The Food We Eat

   When I went american restaurant ,The food was full of faty and it was tasty,I think this food is one of the reasons obesity in US .After search I found  obesity rate is 33.8%   .  
Everyone needs to be healthy . However , we cannot eat only one kind of food or faty food . We need a balanced diet . In other , we need food which contains five important substances : proteins ,minerals, carbohydrates ,fats and vitamins .
Energy in is measured in calories . A person need about 40 calories a day for each kilo that he weighs . If you eat more calories than you need , your body stores the extra calories as fat .

terrorism

 Become known to all, the terrorism doesn't have religion . the terrorism Is the political ideas targets some countries . 
On my arrival at  America, I took a taxi. when the driver know that I am Saudi, he said me wwoww" Saudi Arabia in the many of the terrorists"  . I  tried to explain to him and I wanted to clarify his confusion between Islam and terrorism but he didn't want to hear  except that  Islam is terrorism .
I think ,he took this idea from (.Mass media ) was the reason for that ideas . the media's role was  in the great confusion between Islam and terrorism 
Media was dominant and in control of the views of many people and guide them in the direction some time Is incorrect
And in the end ... I want say that the media creates a false emotional situations sometimes ... especially in humans of ordinary people who don't have  deep idea

Happy birthday lenda

today, it was great  .because we celebrated birthday of  lenda and took many photo with my classmate .when , back to home  .  I have been thinking a lot about birthday . some countries believe that the "Holy day" ,but there are also countries that not believe it .
in Saudia ,before 5-10 years ago . there is not any interest for that day .I don't even remember that I invited my friends to my birthday .I have seen that in the movies hahahaha. anyway , this may be because of religion or customs (lore) ,I don't know exactly.
Now, birthday in saudi has become the most popular in recent year .
Although, birthday tradition are quite similar in some countries to day , not every one clebrates in the sameway  , I remember our neighbor(he 's Indian). he invited us to his son's birthday . the birthday was different .  his son was head is shaved,they believe that protect them from fire (In Indian religion) , remove of the child's hair cleanse the child from of any mistake  in a past . and his son in birthday  goes to school wearing colorful clothes.
    Finally, I like this different cultures, this subject was interesting for me  and wishing you the happiest of birthdays.
